Do you have to take the test if you want to become a proofreader?

I'm still not sure EXACTLY what a proofreader does.... Do they read the translated manga and correct spelling errors and grammar errors?

Yes, you still need to take the test, if you wish to become a proofreader. However, Angry Candy don't have a great need for them at the moment. But Seelie will still review the applicatiin when he gets the chance ^-^ He (Seelie) already has one in the queue already. Just remember that you will need to use Word and the Track Changes function within it, when completing your proofreading.

And here's the duties of a Proofreader:

Proofreader - Proofreads the translation to correct any grammatical and spelling errors, and restructures or rewrites sentences as needed to create good English text. Just because you speak English does not mean you are qualified or can do this job! You must also be able to use the "Track Changes" function in Microsoft Word and save files as .doc.

Currently, no.

The group is largely inactive right now, as we're all busy with real life stuff. However, I anticipate having more time very shortly - within a few weeks - and will vamp things up again then, and update the advertisement for positions.

Generally, we don't have a need for proofreaders, which is the most commonly desired job because it doesn't require learning Photoshop. However, if you are really interested in working with the group, I recommend teaching yourself editing, or at least cleaning or typesetting. And the other position we always need to fill is 'project searcher' - someone who can find projects not currently taken by other groups and which fit our criteria (laid out in the "Project Suggestions and Questions" forum).

Do be sure you read all of the information posted on this thread and information about projects we work on in the "Project Suggestions and Questions" forum before asking any questions, as I won't be answering any that are already answered.

Hi, I was wondering if you are still in need of translators?
According to your "Recruitment" post on the front page, you said you are in need of 3-4 translators, however that post was last edited back in December.
If there are no changes, please let me know if I can still make it.
I would be glad to join your group as a 'Chinese Translator'. ^＿^

Yes, they would love to have you as apart of the team <3. Positions available are still applicable, unless specified, so whether the initial post was edited back in December, it means nothing :). Seelie-kun would never forget to update things xD.

Not so long ago too Seelie-kun said something like this to me: "If you can translate Japanese do the test."
I would believe that Angry Candy are definitely still recruiting for translators ^-^.

Ohh okie, so if I'm applying to be a Chinese translator, do I have to do those other tests (editing, cleaning, etc) ?
I guess I probably do cuz I do have to erase the original text and replace it with English and all.
Or.. actually I don't really know how this exactly work... x_X; lol

No, you just need to do the translation test :]. Convert chinese into english <3.
